The Black Ghost is the sixth of seven special-edition models in Dodge's Last Call series, marking the final year of Challenger production. It pays tribute to the legendary 1970 Challenger R/T SE that ruled street races on Detroit's Woodward Avenue in the early 1970s before vanishing into the night, earning it the nickname Black Ghost. The original car was added to the National Historic Vehicle Register in 2020, and this modern tribute is already recognized as a future collectible.
Under the hood is the high-output supercharged 6.2L HEMI V8 producing 807 horsepower and 707 lb-ft of torque, 10 more horsepower than the standard Redeye, paired with the TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic with paddle shifters. Performance includes 0-60 mph in 3.25 seconds and a 10.5-second quarter mile, with SRT Power Chiller, Launch Control, Launch Assist, and Line Lock.
Every Black Ghost was finished in Pitch Black with the signature black gator-skin vinyl roof, white rear fender graphics, heritage Challenger script badges, Midnight Metallic SRT grille badge, bright Dodge fascia badge, black Mopar hood pins, and bright fuel filler door. It rides on 20x11-inch Satin Carbon Warp Speed wheels with 305/35ZR20 Pirelli P Zero tires, black six-piston Brembo brakes with 15.4-inch two-piece rotors, and a 3.09 rear axle ratio.
Inside, the cabin features Alcantara and Laguna leather seats and door bolsters, an Alcantara steering wheel with red SRT logo, genuine carbon fiber bezels, Dynamica suede headliner, and an exclusive Black Ghost instrument panel badge. Every 2023 Challenger also carries the commemorative Last Call underhood plaque.
